【切斯特】無價的一日遊 @ il Giardino Romantico

Chester是個什麼樣的地方？我來英國前沒聽說過這地方。但同學中竟然有三位在此混過大學三年。除了他們之外，每個去過的人也都說讚！不過因為我不了解，所以之前想去的慾望就大打折扣。這次其實是託了一位14年沒見面的法籍友人的福，才又得到了這難得的出遊機會。

What kind of a place is Chester? I've never heard of the place prior to my arrival in the UK. Interestingly enough, there are three mates in my MA who were Chester fellows. On top of that, every single person who had been there had had only good things to say about the place. Because I didn't 'know', it lessened my desire to visit before. However, when a friend you had not seen in 14 years comes to visit you, you're bound to pick up surprises wherever you go!

這張車票如果買全區的就是整個Merseyside的公車、火車、船都可以搭。一整天不限次數。但是只限離風時刻。刮好日期後把保護膜貼好。進出車站顯示給車站人員檢查就可以了。

This is our budget saver ticket. If you buy one for all areas, then you can go anywhere within Merseyside by bus, train, or ferry, and as many times as you please. The only tiny catch is that it is for off-peak hours only. Once you've scratched out the date, lamentate it and show the ticket to the people at the entrance, then off you go!

感覺跟利物浦是走完全不一樣的風格。
It was very different from the streets of Liverpool.

這裡pub的告示排也比利物浦的來的要『英國』多了。
The pub signs were more 'English' than Liverpudlian ones.

很多建築物上面都有標示出是哪一年建造的。就像是個活博物館一樣。
The history of most buildings were written on the exterior. It was like visiting a museum-town, basically!
