Walker Art Gallery
I've been taking advantage of all the museums that are admission free. It's such a fatal attraction for a nerd like me. Even if you are skint, you can still come here and steep yourself in the artistic atmosphere. If you are unable to finish all the exhibitions, come again tomorrow! Or, if you want to see certain masterpieces more than once, feel free to come and see it as many times as you wish! I chose a day in April to come and visit this art gallery, because so many people had told me it is not only worth a visit, but practically a Liverpool 'must'.
Walker Art Gallery has the largest collection of art works outside of London. It hold the name 'National Museum of the North'. From this, you can already tell that it is definitely worth visiting. And I must admit at this point, that I have forgotten a lot of the details of the picture I had taken. However, that is not going to spoil your enjoyment of the beautiful art works, is it?

Recital of musical instruments from the 16th century.
My memory of this, is still vivid. I remember hearing music coming from some place while viewing paintings in other rooms. When I finally found the source of the music, I was deeply mesmorised by the melody. This old man was demonstrating all kinds of different musical instruments from the sixteenth century. By all means, do not underestimate him. This is his full-time job! He studies these instruments and music from the Renaissance, and performs at various museums! I think this is one of the best surprises of acting upon spontaneity!
I recall going up and chatting with him. I couldn't disgrace my identity as a student of Renaissance literature and gardian of a certain tenor by missing out on this golden opportunity to learn something from a learned man. The man told me that the instruments he played are all replicas of real 16th century instruments, and that all the music were from authentic 16th century scores. Amazing, ain't it?

Notice what's strange in this picture?
What about this one?
After your fruitful tour of the museum, why not sit down and reflect upon what you had just saw? Perhaps chat about it with a friend, or even yourself.
