As you can see from the last article, I wasn't too pleased with the meal. Sashimi (raw fish) goes best with vinegar sushi rice, but the rice they offered was just plain rice. So I decided to visit a place what would surely satisfy me. Of course, this was not my first visit here, either. I like this place because I think the value is great - delicious food at an affordable price. Then, I saw the owner's passion in serving each and every customer. I then fell in love with it.
The most memorable experience was this one time... I happened to be suffering from PMS. And you know how when you're in a bad mood, horrible things tend to happen like chain reaction! I was getting ready to shoot some night photos, so I had my tripod with me that day. It happened that I realised I had left the tripod on the MRT after alighting! After consulting with the MRT people, I had to wait until it reached its final destination, before I get news of my tripod. There goes my night! Once I got my tripod back (I had to go all the way from one end of the blue line to the other), it would be late, and I would have no more mood for photo shooting! Even thought the tripod was not expensive, I didn't want to go through the entire ordeal of ordering it again! So, I hoped that no one would steal the thing.
Then I decided I needed food therapy. I needed to calm myself with some good food. So I came to this place. And once I saw the owner's welcoming smile, the frown on my face subsided immediately. That meal certainly did make my day!!
That's why, once in a while, I think of this place. Although there are no fancy dishes here, the owner has the most passionate heart serving each and every one of his customers!
The owner makes the purchase of all the seafood himself.
Looks like a normal chawanmushi (steamed egg), but there are lots of things in it!
Look at the size of that shrimp!
There is also clam and a piece of chicken in it, making the steamed egg really tasty!
豬排丼定食。 Katsudon teishoku - pork chop set meal.
There are spring onions in these dishes, so there is very little chance I'd order these kind of dishes.
定食的小菜 Little veggie dishes that comes with the teishoku.
先從沙拉開始吃～ And let's start with the salad first!
還有付一碗味增湯 Every meal comes with a bowl of miso soup.
Then, comes the dish that would finally set things right - my bowl of salmon shashimi rice!
Under the slices of salmon sashimi, is the vinegar marinated sushi rice! It made everything right again!
接著還有定食附贈的甜點！ Lastly, dessert from the teishoku!
The place is within a 2-3 minute walking distance from Houshanpi station. Next time you come shopping at Wefenpu, I highly recommend that you try out this place!
