日前在探訪食記的時候發現這間。一知道是泰國人開的,心裡就想說:應該很道地吧!於是有次回台中就找了個機會來一探究竟。

I discovered this place while browsing through food blogs. Apparently, the owners are Thais! I thought: this could be it! Real, authentic Thai food!

落落長的菜單,價錢還算合理。

看到這四個調味料罐,就覺得應該還經得起考驗吧!

These four seasonings made me really believe I was in for a real treat! 

這天剛好只有一桌人跟我搶著用這罐料。我跟老公說:那桌一定是泰國人!老公問我為什麼?我說:你看其他人都沒有想要跟我搶這個!XD 

另外一個線索就是,整間店裡面除了我們這兩桌會用湯匙跟叉子吃,其他桌全部都是用筷子食用餐點!

On the day, only one set of guests tried to take the seasoning from me. I told my other half: they must be Thai! He asked me why! I said: well, look at all the others! They don't even know this exist!

Another clue was this: we were the only tables that ate our meals with fork and spoon. All the others were eating with chopsticks!

不過打拋一上桌就讓我有點失望了。洋蔥跟其他間的一樣好像不要錢似的!

But then, when krapao chicken arrived, I was disappointed already... Not unlike the other Thai places, it seemed like they get their onions for free! There was too much onions!

把洋蔥挑掉,這才像道地的打拋啊!

After picking out the onions, it looked more like authentic krapao!

之後想要外帶(老媽有指名打拋不要洋蔥,店家竟然說打拋就是有洋蔥不肯去洋蔥)但我們在泰國吃得確實都是沒有洋蔥的啊!而且店裡面的人經我確認,確實都是泰國人喔!這才奇妙。

We had another serving to go, and we asked for no onion, but they insisted that it was an inevitable ingredient... But none of us remember having onioned krapaos in Thailand! And the amazing thing was that after I confirmed... the people at the place, were, indeed, Thais!

酸辣雞湯。這是老公點的。味道普普,我覺得尚可。

My other half ordered this spicy chicken soup. I thought it was okay.

不過看到有涼拌冬粉(yam woon sen  ยำวุ้นเส้น)心裡又燃起了希望。嘗了一口,覺得還是我自己以前亂做的比較道地。

When I saw that there was yam woon sen (spicy glass noodle salad), I got excited again! After having a taste, I realised that I make even more authentic yam woon sen than they do! 

雖然第一次去沒有很驚豔,感覺照樣是改良過的,才有可能這麼受台灣人歡迎吧!但我們還是給了他們第二次機會!

Despite this first disappointing trip, we decided to give it another chance....

第二次去,照樣給了打拋一次機會。這次洋蔥好像又更多了!天啊!

There seemed to be even more onions this time! Crickey!

上次有幫老爸點這個,但我沒吃到。所以這次點來嘗嘗看。泰式炒河粉(pad thai ผัดไทย)。太水了啦!

We had this pad thai to go for dad last time, so I didn't get to try this. That's why I ordered it this time - gee... it's way too soupy!

這道摩摩喳喳倒是還有點像樣。料很豐富,感覺很泰國~ XD (但其實他又不泰國 XD)

The dessert bur bur cha cha seemed a lot better... (but technically, it's not even "Thai")

最後,怕辣的朋友可以點來去辣的耶子汁。

Finally, a drink recommended for those who don't fancy spicy food - coconut juice!

天仙念:把台灣人當目標顧客群的店家,果然是再怎麼好吃也不會道地。看來我真的要找一間專為泰籍勞工朋友們設立的餐廳才吃的到道地的味道!
