At a walking distance from the medieval style architecture Bristol Cathedral, the Gothic style St. Mary Redcliffe serves as a striking contrast.
自Bristol Cathedral步行即可抵達的哥德式St. Mary Redcliffe成了前者中古設計教堂的明顯對比。

Located not too far from the City Museum, the cathedral impressively stands, seemingly undisturbed by modern civilization. Founded in 1140, it was first known as St. Augustine's Abbey. It has now the status of a grade 1 of listed buildings, and is a must-visit site for all tourists in Bristol.
離博物館不遠處，座立著這間大教堂。看似獨立，絲毫不受現代文明影響。成立於1140年，原本命名為St. Augustine's Abbey。現在是英國grade 1等級的古蹟。來到布里斯托的遊客，一定要來見識一下這間壯觀的大教堂。

The English are famous for give elaborate, but often excessive directions. I had not encountered such a scenario until this instance, when I was trying to find my way to the Suspension Bridge. Following a convoluted map that made me feel lost, I stopped twice to ask and make sure I was going the right direction.  In both cases, after they had kindly given me their elaborate directions, I had to ascertain one last time: so this is the right direction, correct?, before I have enough courage to proceed.
英國人問路給的指示是出了名的複雜。複雜到你後面聽完了前面都忘了。我一直沒機會遇到這樣的情形，直到這天我正再努力的尋找這一座吊橋。我只是想知道我走的方向是對的還是錯的，但好心又熱情的英國人給的指示對我的記憶力實在是一種極大的考驗。所以到了最後我還是得再問一次：所以我走這方向是對的吧！？

Finally, I found the bridge. This is one of the few places of interest that caught my attention. Initially, I wasn't really keen on seeing a 'bridge'.  However, since it had been recommended by my friend who wasn't too big on 'touristy stuff', I thought it was probably worth a trip. 
終於，我找到了這座橋。這是在布里斯托少數讓我有興趣的地方。其實原本我也不太有興趣的。但既然我不太熱愛觀光的朋友強力推薦，我反到覺得這應該會值得瞧瞧。

Actually, I didn't know what to expect of Bristol when I arrived. If it hadn't been for a must-visit friend, then I wouldn't have ever made it to Bristol. So, in a way, everything that I did in Bristol became a surprise! 
其實剛開始不知道應該對布里斯托有什麼樣的期待。要不是有個非見不可的朋友，我想我根本就不會來這裡吧！不過換個角度想，因為原本沒在行程中，以致所有在這裡看到的，都能歸類為驚喜！
Like many other public museums, Bristol City Museum doesn't charge admission fee either. Plus, my friend, who is the worst tourist you'll ever meet, recommended this place, also. So I thought, well, if he's recommending it, then it must be worth a visit.
就如同許多其他的博物館一樣，這間也是免費入場。加上，這也是我那不太熱愛旅遊的朋友推薦要看的地方。既然被推薦了，一定多少都會值回票價吧！（何況根本就沒票價！）
The neoclassical building was completed in 1823. The architect who designed the building also designed St George's Hall, Liverpool. To be honest, though, I don't know anything about architecture. The only difference and similarity I see in these buildings is whether I like it or not.
這棟新古典式的建築是在一八二三年完工。設計此建築物的建築師跟利物浦的St. George's Hall是同一個人。不過以我對建築物的認知，這世上只有兩種建築物：一種是我喜歡的，另外一種是我不喜歡的。。。
Even the lock in the loo turns out to be quite unique.
連廁所的門鎖都非常具有特色！
