Yet another crooked house! Starting to wonder why there are so many crooked houses in England? If you know why, please, indulge me! Anyway, this is a lot more famous than the one I shared with you earlier, the one in Canterbury. However, now comparing the two, I don't think this one seems as crooked as the other! What do you think?
又是一個不正的房子。開始覺得英國人很詭異了嗎？怎麼房子老是蓋的歪歪的！如果你知道原因的話，歡迎分享喔！這間其實比上間在坎特伯里的還要有名。不過照片比較起來，好像這間比較沒那麼畸形。你覺得呢？
One of the reasons why my friend recommended that I come to Windsor, was because of this tea house. I have to say, the scones were phenomenal! It was the perfect way to end our Windsor tour!
我朋友之所以會強烈推薦我選擇溫莎，就是因為這間下午茶店啦！嘗過它們的scone之後覺得真的不枉費此行啊！為了我們的溫莎之旅畫下了一個完美的句點呢！

When you come to Windsor, this is not something you'd like to miss out on. It's not hard to find. Just walk along the main street, you'll see it on your left with your back towards the castle.
來到溫莎絕對不能錯過這間！而且他一點都不難找！離開城堡往主要步道行走，他就在你的左手邊！ 

Ever wondered why English/European churches are so fascinating? Other than the history, there is something else. Most churches follow a guideline. Here are a few of the guidelines, and once you've become acquainted with them, next time you walk inside an European church, you can keep an eye out for these structures. 
會不會覺得，為什麼英國（或是歐洲）的教堂都這麼的搶眼嗎？其實除了歷史之外，還有其他的要素。因為教堂的結構有著一定的架構。但是在架構以外的變化，又是這麼的多元。以下就是一些我發現的基本結構。提供大家參考。下次大家走進歐洲教堂，應該可以用不同的眼光觀賞教堂囉！
The basic structure of a church would look like a cross if viewed from above. The Main Altar is located at the east end of the building. The entrance(s) are at the west or north-south arms of the cross. The Crossing is where the 'cross' meets. This is where you'll find the central tower, the steeple, andthe dome, if there are any of these. At the west end of the church, you'll find the largest area of the whole building called the Nave. This is where the congregation sits during a service. The walls along the boarder of the seating area, inside the church, by the stain glass windows is called the Clerestory. There is the Screen that separates the public nave from the eastern end of the church, and there is also the Choir, where the 'choir' stands when they stand/sing during a service.  
教堂的基本結構是個十字形。主聖壇會放在東邊，西邊或是南北邊會有入口。十字型的交叉處就是主塔樓、尖塔、或是圓穹所在處。西邊，也就是教堂最大的區塊，是教堂正堂也是參禮時大家所坐的地方。座位擺設的兩旁，沿著建築物的內部的牆叫做Clerestory。熒屏將正堂與教堂東邊隔開。然後就是唱經樓了。也就是合唱團所站立歌頌的位置囉。
Not all churches follow this format, but next time you visit a church in Europe, you might be able to distinguish these features, too! 
不是每個教堂都會照著這個模式建造，不過下次參訪歐洲教堂時，或許你也可以眼睛睜大，瞧瞧這幾個比較基本性的特徵呢！
 

Nearing the end of my 2009 UK tour, I only had enough budget and time for either Hampton Court or Windsor. While I still couldn't make up my mind, my friend, with whom I was staying, kindly shared her opinion and decided that Windsor was definitely the one to choose. Well, at the end of the day, I wasn't at all disappointed. But I will always wonder... what Hampton Court is like.... 
我的2009年英國旅遊將近尾端時，我知道我只有足夠的經費及時間要在Hampton Court與Windsor之間擇一。這兩個地方若沒去過當然是很難選擇。在詢問好心收留我的好友意見之後，她覺得一定要去溫莎。這也就幫了我做了一個大抉擇。雖然逛了一整天下來一點都不失望，但我心裡永遠都會掛念著一個念頭：Hampton Court到底是啥樣子呢？

This is a medieval castle, dating back all the way to William the Conqueror's time.
這也是間中古世紀的城堡。從威廉一世那時期開始的～ 
It has the longest history of occupied castles.
不過這可跟別的荒廢城堡不同，這間可是一直有在住人的。

So, what did you think? There were many exhibit rooms you can visit, but none of them allow photography (which is probably a good thing). You could easily spend the entire day wandering around! 
怎麼樣呢？還不錯吧？有很多展示可以參觀，不過都不能拍照。（這樣也好省點事～）要在這裡殺掉一整天的時間真的很容易呀！

Actually, after Canterbury, I spent a day in London. But unfortunately, I had ingeniously deleted all the photos I had taken on the first day. Fortunately, I had the opportunity to walk around the same places again, and re-take those valuable photos. So, going in chronological order of the photos, here comes the Windsor series. 
其實離開坎特伯里之後，我在倫敦市區先晃了一天。不過由於本人才智過人意外的把那第一天所拍攝的照片全部都給刪了！好家在之後還有時間去重遊那些地方，把刪掉的照片再補照回來！所以依照照片時間上的順序，先來看看溫莎的一日遊囉！
It's not difficult to get to Windsor from London. There is a train departing from Waterloo almost every half an hour. When I arrived, I had just missed a train by a few seconds, so I had to wait for the next one. Interestingly, on this next train, I met a fellow Taiwanese mate from Liverpool uni, who I had not had the chance to know before leaving. After acknowledging each other, we naturally became travelling partners for the day. 
從倫敦去溫莎其實很簡單。Waterloo車站幾乎每半小時就有一班到溫莎。當我抵達的時候，當好錯過一班車，所以只好等下一班。不過緣分這時就開始作祟。上了火車我竟然意外發現一位台灣同學。還在利物浦的時候沒機會認識，結果到了火車上巧遇！當然，打了招呼之後就很自然地一起展開當天的溫莎一日遊了！
Windsor is a very lovely place, like many little places around the UK. Most of our time was spent in the castle, so by the time we came out of the castle, it was nearly dusk. 
溫莎是個很漂亮的地方，如同英國許多其他小地方～ 當天我們大部分時間都耗在城堡內。所以當我們出來的時候，已經黃昏了～
We took a walk along the river and saw many swans and ducks.
