il Giardino Romantico

平時很少出門。所以朋友來訪其實也不太知道要帶她去哪玩。最主要是因為自己平時都是靠雙腿、捷運、和公車。要玩也一定得找公車捷運有到的地方。

For someone that doesn't go out much, having to show a friend around Taipie could be aptly described as 'Mission Impossible'.  The only transportation I am familiar with is public transportation systems, and my two legs.  So wherever I take my friend, it must be reachable by either bus, MRT, or our limbs.

想要來烏來很久了。一直無緣。還好朋友也是大自然的愛好者。所以就決定帶她走一趟烏來。

Since I've always wanted to come to Wu-lia, I found this to be the perfect opportunity to visit.  Plus, my friend happens to be a nature-lover as well.

不過說實在的，烏來除了有溫泉，其他有什麼好玩的我也不太清楚。我很怕她到時候跟我喊無聊勒。

Though I didn't know until we go there, what the place had to offer, other than hot springs. 

下了公車，走到老街，看到了這個被抓起來的可憐的松鼠。

Well, we got off the bus, and walked along the 'Old Street'.  [I'm not sure if that's the correct translation]  The first thing we saw was this cute little squirrel.




觀光客可能看了很稀奇。我不否認第一眼看到也覺得好可愛、好有趣。可是現在想想，我好像不太能讚同這樣的行為耶。

Honestly speaking, it did catch my attention.  Look at how cute it is.  Nevertheless, we must realize this: it doesn't belong in a cage.

好像台灣不管那裡，只要是觀光地區就會有個『老街』。比較起來好像也大同小異。所以就快速的走完這條街。來看看這裡有什麼好玩的。即使沒有，看看風景也好。

It seems that almost every tourist attraction site has an 'Old Street'.  Since they all seem to look alike to us, we quickly stroll down the street to see what else the place had to offer. 




地圖瞧瞧，呦～有瀑布耶！

So, it seems there's a waterfall.  Sounds promising, doesn't it?

那就去看看這瀑布吧！

路途上看到標示寫著瀑布要走六公里。對數字非常沒有概念的兩個人就糊裡糊塗的走著走著。對於大約要走多久完全沒有概念。

The sign indicated a 6k walk.  Yet, we had no clue whatsoever on how far we actually have to walk.  We both suck at numbers.

好處是，一路上看到很多好朋友～

The good thing was, we met many intereting friends along our walk.



台灣的蝴蝶還真的很多！一路上就看到好多隻顏色完全不一樣的。

One thing Taiwan doesn't lack - butterflies.  We saw so many varieties of them.  All kinds, all colors, all sizes.

而且比起上次我自己去爬山看到的，這裡的蝴蝶大多了。

They were bigger than the ones I saw on my last hiking trip.




就連停在車子上，也是一樣的美。

Even when they stop on something so artificial as a man-made car, their beauty remains.




這又是另外一位朋友。可惜這回，還是沒能拍到他那完美的蜘蛛網。

Another friend.  This time, a distant cousin of Charlotte.  Pity, though, cuz I still can't get the webs.



通往瀑布的路途，有條叫做『情人步道』的道路。基本上，我是不覺得有什麼浪漫的。不過呢，還是蠻貼近大自然的。千萬別對那名字抱太大的期望。

Lover's Walk is on the way to the waterfall.  Yet I still don't see anything romantic about this 'walk'.  However, that does not deprive you of being close to nature.  Don't let the name fool you.

我說過，我們兩個都對數字沒什麼概念。聽到水流聲就想說：瀑布到了！？

As I said, we hadn't a single clue on how far 6k was.  So, when I heard running water, I said excitingly: Is that the waterfall?




結果只是排水口啦！

Oops.  Just an outlet...



原來還要走一段....  情人步道也還沒到！？

And so, that wasn't the actual 'Lover's Walk'?



這，才是瀑布啦！

THIS is the waterfall!
